The Sea Rooms run along the front of the house on the first floor, where the coastguards’ families once lived. Each has a window set into walls almost a metre thick, so deep that it makes a seat: a cushion, a book, a cup of tea and the sea. People tell us it’s where they spent most of their stay.

The beds face the window. We don’t put curtains you’d want to close; there are linen blinds for the morning and the light off the water is gentle.

The rooms are the same size and have the same comforts, each a little different in shape, as old houses are. Room 6 has a bath as well as a shower.

Questions

Do all the Sea Rooms look the same?

They are alike in size and comfort, each a little different in shape. Ask for room 6 if you like a bath: it is the only one with one.

Can the bed be made as two singles?

Rooms 4 and 5 can. Tell us when you book and it will be made up for you.
