Twenty-four seats, tall windows onto the bay and a short menu that changes every day with what the Porthkellis boats land and what grows in the walled garden.
Tamsin Rowe cooked in London for twelve years before she came home to the coast. She goes down to the harbour at seven to see what's come in, picks what's ready in the garden, and writes the menu at noon. What you read below is a typical day; the real one is chalked up in the bar from four.

Tell us about any allergy when you book. Tamsin cooks everything here, so she can almost always make the dish without it.
The bar at the window
A zinc counter, two stools and a window over the bay. Come in from the beach for a cider, or sit with a gimlet while the light goes. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
A table for dinner
Guests staying with us always get a table; book it when you book your room. Not staying? We keep six seats for neighbours and walkers: call us or ask at the desk.
Hello! Ask me about the rooms, what they cost, dinner, the sauna or how to find us.
